Black Friday

It was very nice to have a low-key Thanksgiving meal with family, especially when some of the family are those that I don't get to see very often. It was the first time that we'd ever been to Felicita, where some of the Harrisburg CowParade cows are placed. My cow, Flower, A Cow By Any Other Name, is at a private residence.

Today I do work, but thankfully not at a brick-and-mortar retail store, but at a catalog call center. True, we'll be taking alot of calls for items that have already sold (like the Pottery Barn Kid Quilted Stockings, but hey, we've been selling them for at least three weeks). There will be alot of irate callers about that particular item

BREAK A LEG! OR how did I get sucked into this?

My two offspring are in the school's Fall play, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I was volunteered to help, and somehow became THE help.

But seriously, while it turn out to be a pretty big commitment of time/effort, I did enjoy helping out. The kids, 12th - 7th graders, are for the most part great. Some great talent here! I made the Witch's staff, Father Christmas's bag, a hat and tunic for the Elf, cut the Animal's ponchos and Witch's Army tunics (the fabric frays alot and was too fine to be sewn ... had to put a ton of Fray Block on them!), made the Dwarf's tunic and cape, shopped for fabric for other moms to sew costumes, made the Animals' ears, found the goblet and added jewels, and I don't know what else. I must say that the robes for the Witch and Centaur made by a friend, involved in children's theater here, are just wonderful, as is Aslan's tunic, made by a cast member's mom who is also a teacher here.

The next production will be the Spring musical, Lil Abner. Shoot me if I say "yes" to that!

OR ... there's a cat sitting on the keyboard

This blog has been created in response to my sister Aral's blog ... and what a truly fine blog it is!

What's up with the comment about a cat on the keyboard? Our younger cat, Salem, likes to jump up on the back of my chair and climb down my front and settle on my arms and hands while I'm at the PC. Makes typing very difficult.

And now here's another family connection: Goauld1024
