Swollen Head
Early this morning we woke up to discover that Chatham had a swollen face. Nod took him to the emergency vet clinic, where they examined him and gave him a shot of prednisone. The vet there thought that it was an allergic reaction to something. Chatham has been eating and drinking, and for an old stiff guy, he had a really good stretch. We have an afternoon appointment with his regular vet this afternoon to do a follow-up. At the moment his face is still swollen. We think that it may be a spider bite - we have more spiders in the house than usual this year.

He does look pretty funny. (Sorry, but it's true.)
Oh no! And they are so quiet and noble about such things that it makes me feel all the worse for them! May he feel better soon and may all be well!
Oh god, I hope he feels better soon. It is just so hard to discover a spider bite unde rall that fur. Hope the vet will know more!
Spiders are creepy. No me gusto.
Poor kitty! I hope he's better soon.
That's kind of a professional hazard of the sportscasting and cat trades. Get well soon, Chatham.
oooh. poor sweet kitty! i hope by the time i write this he's better! (fortunately, we've never had to deal with anything like that... tho' i'm not sure why, since FuzzyButt is notorious for chasing spiders!) xo
