Old Photo Weekend
No date on this photo, but it's probably from 15 years ago or so. My Nod has been the family chronicler for many years. He used to just set up the camcorder in a corner and leave it ... there's lots of boring stuff on those tapes, but there might be some good stuff. I'm just not going to sit thru it all looking for it.

Wow, that is an old one. Bet it's more than 15 years old. I'm judging by the hair mostly.
Time flies. Yeah, I'm thinking 20 years ago, almost.
Being an expert in all things electronic, I would date this from the mid 80s. My major clue is that video camera. It would have been somewhat new, and would have cost a good deal of money. And of course it is huge and bulky, with a heavy battery pack that would not last very long.
Also, it seems that the photo was taken with the now extinct "Kodak Disk" camera, or a Polaroid instant camera. I am guessing this by the square shape of the print. Instant cameras and disk cameras produced square prints.
Either way, this would also date to the mid 80s.
And that hair. Was the dude trying to grow a mullet or something? Cause that would also date to the mid 80s.
Wow, I didn't realize Nod did this kind of thing before the girls were born. Huh! I recognize the couch behind him--musta been a special occasion, like Christmas. He used to tape our Christmas nights.
Two things:
1. Nod looks a lot like Dave Barry in this picture (we like Dave Barry, so that's a good thing!)
2. does this mean we can soon look forward to "Old Video Saturdays"? (which i'm thinkin' could be very cool)
that's it. Hope you all had a happy and fabulous Thanksgiving... and a restful weekend, free of games, practices, meetings, projects, calamities, bad weather, and anything else that might get in the way of your ability to enjoy total and complete relaxation for the next couple of days! xox
The Lazy I is right: That camera was one of the first. You guys got married in 1985, and I bet this is one of the early-days XMAS nights.
That was a GOOD couch! I had it made special, but I've had at least three couches since then in that spot. Amazingly, amazingly I say, that couch is still in use at the church in the high school room, as you know. It's been there for years, and still doesn't have one hole or anything wrong with it. Well, I think a few kids have autographed it. Just sayin'.
I think that's cool. My family relies almost entirely on oral history which leads to fighting.
I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend. I wanted to say hello to everyone on my blogroll, and wish them well, because this is Thanksgiving weekend, and I am grateful for my Internet friends!
Boring though it might seem, events of 15 years ago might be good to visit.
Is this when we ask for the fudge? Or was that a week ago?
Rabbit Rabbit!
Rabbit, rabbit!
Rabbit, Rabbit!
Rabbit Rabbit, 3D!
Rabbit rabbit you fool! Get that rabbit post up or suffer a terrible fate in December. Just sayin'.
