Penn State 26 Florida State 23
What a frustrating game. I've never seen so many penalties in a football game before! It went into triple overtime to finish. It's 1:00 am, I stayed up for the whole game. I'm going to regret this in the morning. Oh, wait, it IS morning. UGH.
The photo is of me at a PSU game, season of 1980. I didn't know my photo was being taken - one of my photographer friends on the school paper was on the field and turned to look up at the student section. I think I might have been trying to focus on the game for a change.
BTW, about that photo ) below ~ JoePa rolls up his pants so that the players on the field can spot him quickly and easily. Oh, and what's a Nittany Lion? Basically, it's a mountain lion found around Mount Nittany. (nah nah, tlm)
good night!
hear the Penn State Fight Song here

I had to give up and go to bed. I came to your site to see who had won. I counted on you to post about it.
Ugly, but WE ARE
PENN STATE!
All hail JoePa! He is the man.
And you're right. That song gets to be really annoying after awhile, doesn't it?
That was a great game!
I like that picture. You look like Nivek Army Ranger Pez in this one.
The Penn State song does NOT get annoying! Whatchatalkin'about, tlm?
TLP, your cousin TLM meant the FSU song, I think. The Atlanta Braves do the same Tomahawk chop and song. Back when Jane Fonda was married to the team owner, there was a politically correct version where you did the same song but made the slashing movement side-to-side instead of up and down. That way, you aren't playing on any native american stereotypes, see. That Jane!
Was that poster available in stores? Kind of modelish.
Oh what a cute lil' bug you were!
(And no doubt still are!)
Please excuse me while I pull my foot out of my mouth...LOL
Correct, doug. It should be noted that the Atlanta Braves (and Kansas City Chiefs) stole the war chant from us. It's an annoying song, yes, but it works. (Well, most times it does.)
I absolutely LOVE that photo of you.
It could be in a sport's hall of fame, honestly! The black and white quality gives you this seriousness coupled with a sense of knowing how it will all turn out.
i love this photo also
but i can't tell by your expression if you were winning or not.
I those days, Penn State was ALWAYS winning.
That's a "Beaver Stadium is cold look."
Great photo! I hate it when people secretly snap pictures!
3D - Forgive me, I was here first thing this morning and sure I'd left a comment, but apparently I didn't. :(
Congratulations on your win and for staying up for the whole thing! I love that picture of you (even though you have a big button on your forehead!), especially since you said you weren't posing for it - that's pretty damn cool.
Well, I'm glad your team won.
Groovy pic!
TLM, I never knew. In exchange for that information I grant you this: FSU is my least despised Florida school. I still wish Spurrier leprosy. The bad kind. You're welcome.
Well thanks, doug. You should know we FSU alums stand in solidarity with our friends in Georgia. We don't even care that they whupped on us good in the Sugar Bowl a few years ago.
Dddragon, TLP, anyone... Can you explain to me why your Nittany Lion on the official PSU logo looks so awesome and powerful, but the little dude in the lion costume on the sidelines looks so wimpy?
