What is all this rabbit rabbit stuff going on? It must be a hoax. I've never heard of it before. The Wikipedia has a detailed description of the custom, but I think it was just put up yesterday.
Indie, AP3 started this quite a while ago. I posted this explanation about it.
i don't know, for sure, if it truly brings luck... but things have been going rather nicely for me since i joined in on the fun!

Rabbit Rabbit! I am feeling somewhat energized these days. No honestly, it keeps coming and going, there could be a short in my power cord...
I am ready for the summer! And what a summer it is gearing up to be! There is the cruise to Mexico, and then the three days I will get to be on Sanibel Island, and of course the general meyham!!!
I might not survive it all.

Energized? Hmmm.... I guess you could say the weather here is! We started off the first with cold temps and quite the storm and ended the day with bright sunshine and unbearable summer heat!

dddragon-yes, I'm always energized for summer-its so nice to be able to go outside without coats and boots and go camping with the family. Yay for summer.
How many rabbits do you suppose we can find on the Internet? (I have three in reserve; hope nobody else finds them.)
Honestly I do get somewhat excited for the summer, but it always seems to go by so soon after the 4th.
On the other hand, as a teacher I actually get bored sometimes in the summer. I can't help it. I prefer to be busy rather than idle.
