The Rainbow Bridge

Chatham, at age 20 years and nine days, has crossed The Rainbow Bridge:
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

We're so sad about Chatham and can't imagine how much you all will miss him. The kitties did a tribute to him on their blog. I wish there was something we could do to comfort you. We'll be sending lots of purrs and prayers.
*hugs* and Purrs for you all,

Very sorry to hear about Chatham. I can relate, I had a cat that made it to the big 2-0. It is an honor for a cat to last that long, so at least you had all that time with him.

3D, we all have come to know Chatham over the years and your love for him was apparent and if we can get that through a pretty decent lap-top screen, I can only imagine how loved Chatham must have felt.
I bet he wouldn´t trade lives with any cat out there...20 years just screams that you loved him well.
Safe journey and Chatham, I hear if you jump on the rainbow stars will sparkle. Can you check that for me, please?

I am so very sorry about Chatham. The very same thing happened to Trixie last Auguse - ok one day, couldn't move at all the next and was gone a few hours later. It's so hard. Chathan was a beautiful boy and he was well loved, and he loved well. - Mary

Expressing my condolences and thanking you for yours. Siamese are great--fiesty and opinionated. We'll both miss our beasts, I know. My heart goes out to you.

i'm so happy Chatham saw fit to not just come through his own personal cloud, but to remain in your midst for all these years. i know you miss him terribly -- and i am so sorry and heart-broken for your loss. neva xox
