Well, this girl has to be over 16 'cause she's working there. Okay, so ask your two 16 year olds if they know what a Susan B Anthony coin is. If they do, then don't feel old. Feel smart. With smart daughters.

Hmmm. This reminds me of the time Ekim went to the deli counter and asked for 3/4 of a pound of something or other, and the kid behind that counter asked, "Is that--more than half a pound?

Ekim just answered him, without batting an eye. I was proud of him.

I wonder...if you told her it was a two-dollar coin, would she have just blindly put it in the register and given you change for two?

Looks like their training program needs some help.

Of course, you can imagine how it all makes Susan B. Anthony feel.

old? then count me in, sister. i remember them only too well! but i thought we were using Sacagawea B. Anthony dollars now.

i agree with your mom, and suspect what this experience demonstrated, the fact that the girl just doesn't know her history. hey, but at least she gave you the correct change, right? loved this... especially since it was an audio post!! xox neva
