Oh, geeee ... a Barbie. Ummm .... thanks.
At some point, Barbies were not as welcome as they once were. The Penn State Barbies were saved and put away for the future. The others fell victim to mysterious forces, leaving them dismembered and scattered throughout the house.

Cute. I don't remember this pix at all. But that's Goa'uld, right?
I got my first Barbie on my 25th birthday as a joke from mom. I mentioned to her that I never had one and so-while all my grown-uo friends had arrived, she handed me this present. I bet there were quite a few talks behind my back :)
chew toys! woof!
Goa'uld and a "Friend-of-Pansi?" Interesting combo.
You know, I just read an article on the BBC World Service webpage about the horrible things done to Barbie dolls - by girls. Some of the more common things include
1. Microwaving.
2. Cutting off all the hair.
3. Decapitation.
4. drawing and quartering.
It seems that this happens in the early pre-teen years.
Yes, I seem to remember that hair cutting was a favorite.
I read the same article as Iguana. I don't remember any microwaving but I too definitely played stylist!
I was going to mention the BBC article, but Lazy & Gmom beat me too it. I'm not sure I ever intentionally tortured my Barbies, but I melted one on the radiator once. Looked as bad as it smelled.
verifier: dudah - all the live long day.
That's a funny picture!
I have never received, nor have I ever given, a Barbie as a gift. Praise be.
