Old Photo Sunday

Here's the MIL that I've been harping about lately. She was born in 1922 - I don't know what age or year to guess this photo was taken. They were New Yorkers (Nod was born in Ozone Park), so I'm guessing that this was taken at one of the beaches within reach of NYC.

I love these old pix - thanks so much for sharing!

I don't know why, but Blogger has locked me out of my old blog. It still accepts comments, but I can't get it to publish anything new, or make any changes to the template. I even attempted to use FTP to upload it to my domain, but that also failed.

I struggled with it for days, writing letters to Blogger Help and Support, all for naught, so I’m starting over at: Enter the Laughter Redeux

Trying to notify all of my previous links. Trying not to think evil thoughts - LOL

Marti: I've updated the link on mine ... Blogger can get very frustrating, eh?

Nice photo. The beach of choice back then was probably Coney Island? Or, if they went east, Jones Beach.

That's a nice picture, 3D. We went to the beach in Brooklyn with family friends a few years back. The beach wasn't bad, but there were literally bits of trash floating in the ocean. Blech.

*sigh, longing for my old Manhattan Beach in CA*

Fairly risque suit for that time, right?

Those old photos are fun to look back at. Nice that you were able to keep them all together. Ours got scattered and most of them lost.

I don't think you've been harping, I think you're frustrated because you care and it's difficult.

Whoa, did I just turn into Pollyanna?

I agree...isn´t she showing a little too much skin for her time? Really flattering bathing suit :)
Doug, the glass is always half full! You just really wanna have to see it!

Julia was a cute thing. Actually, she now looks terrific for 85. She had artistic talent too. It's good to try to remember that she was a real person before the Alzheimer's took over. That's so hard to do because she began to slip mentally so long ago.

What a hard thing to have to live through. I feel for her, I feel for you, I feel for your family... very hard...

I love the picture!

Ah yes... you are right! All that I had to do was switch browsers and it started working again. you be so smart!

As I said in my e-mail, I love that you post old pictures on Sundays. The old black & white"s with these rough edges are sorely missed. I know that they have those scissors that make similar cuttings but...it is just not the same as the real deal.
