Old Photo Sunday

Here is dad (Niks) and brother Nivek. We used to go into the mountains of southern California alot when we were young. Always a picnic lunch, frequently a creek nearby. Lots of water-wading and hiking and exploring. I think that Indian blanket might still be around somewhere, if it's the one that I'm thinking it is.

My dad and I go hiking in the mountains of Southern California, almost every weekend. At a certain age, dad becomes the accidental wader. I'm going to try to figure out where that picture was taken.

Sounds similar to my childhood, too. We don't do enough of that anymore, I'm very sorry to say. I think this is inspiring me to plan something similar soon!

I love this photo! I took it of course.

It was in the San Bernadino Mtns. around 1966.
