Olympics

Okay, I admit it. I'm an Olympics fan. Especially Curling ~ which is absurd because I really don't understand most of the rules. But for some reason I find it fascinating. Something about it also tickles me. So-o-o-o serious! I've watched enough of the American teams to recognize some regular audience members.

Since the Olympics started last week, I've tried to have one of the NBC channels tuned in. I've even got the four channel numbers posted on the TV. Even when I'm in the other room, it's on, like a radio.

And my dear Nod sent me this image in case I didn't use Google today:

Didja hear about the Women of Curling calendar?

And here's the story on MSNBC

This is so we can all make jokes about "curling" up with a good book/calendar.

I was looking at your pix behind the Semisweet box and noticed: the Pez women all have such nice eyebrows. Nice arch. Excellent shape. Aesthetically pleasing. Just thought I'd share. And I bet there's no cosmetic enhancement involved. xoxo

Dddragon, Curling and hockey are the only winter olympic sports I ever watch. I have no earthly idea what curling is and would rather not know why, but I can stare at it for a long time. It seems to be a cross between shuffleboard and streetsweeping and god bless the janitorial staff at the assisted living home where it was invented.

Curling is like shuffleboard - only on ice.

Which brings up this question - does the summer olympics have shuffleboard? If not, why?

I watch skiing, bob-sleighing and figure-skating. Every thing to do with ice and snow. Maybe I did chose the right country to live in :)

Um. I haven't been watching the curling. Are the women especially "hot"?

I heard that curling is one of the newest hottest sports. I think it's kind of cool how they slide around on the ice with that little broom. I have no clue what it's about!

3D's an Olympic junkie! ;) I like how Google has been incorporating different Olympic features in their logo. Pretty innovative.

(Doug, your comment was so funny!)

I don't particularly find the women who 'curl' to be very attractive, so the calendar idea sounds very ... er... well, let's just say I won't buy it.

P.S. please go to my blog today and get the addys for the different gov't. officials listed there. Then write to beg them to do something concerning the sale to Dubai Ports World of the security contract for 7 of the ports in the United States. This is a very serious issue which directly affects those of us that live in the Bay Area here.

Curling is a great sport but it is dying as fewer young people are taking an interest in it.

I am guilty of not watching the Olympics so I have nothing to say... NOTHING! I am distraught! DISTRAUGHT! So yeah, figured I would drop in for a dramatic hello!

HELLO! *bohemian flings herself unto... something in sheer desperation due to her ignorance*

Yes, hello indeed!

3D - If you could peel yourself away from the Olympics, I'll make it worth your while - my place, Friday!

Strangeley, I haven't watched any of the Olympics coverage this year. I just lost interest.

I've been watching the Olympics when I could. I like the skiing events, and all the ice skating stuff. Curling is okay to watch, but I have NO idea what the heck is going on with it. Not a clue.
